13

March 2017

A vibrant, all singing, all dancing musical normally cast with 12 to 17 year olds as it is a tough singing assignment and lots of great dance numbers and comedy too.

The show will be in March 2017 and casting in October 2016

Evan Goldman is about to turn thirteen, and he can’t wait. His life seems full of possibilities -- that is, until his parents get divorced, and he is forced to move with his mom from big-city New York to podunk Appleton, Indiana. If Evan can’t get the coolest kids to come to his bar mitzvah, how is he going to survive the school year, not to mention, the rest of his life? As Evan navigates the world of cool kids and nerds, jocks and cheerleaders, first kisses and heartbreak, he comes to understand “What it Means to Be a Friend.” With a bright, catchy pop score from Jason Robert Brown, equal doses of humor and pathos, and a cast of wildly talented teens, 13 is irresistible to grown ups and almost-grown ups alike.

The show provides an open look at the New York City’s High School of Performing Arts, where sweat and hard work are the key factors to a successful life as a performer. The plot follows a group of students across the acting, dancing and music faculties from 1980-1984 as they learn to master their craft and grow up alongside each other, rising to the various challenges that face them.

INTO THE WOODS

AVENUE Q

PERFORMED DECEMBER 2014

AVENUE Q our laugh-out-loud musical production that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named PRINCETON who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. There, he meets KATE (the girl next door), ROD (the Republican), TREKKIE (the internet sexpert), LUCYTHE SLUT (need we say more?), and other colorful types who help PRINCETON finally discover his purpose in life!

LITTLE WOMEN

PERFORMED SEPTEMBER 2014

A beautiful but incredibly challenging score and a real passion of our musical director James. Beautiful acting, stunning scenic art and elegant costumes all added to a beautiful production.

LORD OF THE FLIES

PERFORMED JULY 2014

Lord of the Flies was our first straight acting show and again redefined audience expectations of the acting abilities of young people. Written by the cast and director this was a stunning performance.

BUGSY MALONE

PERFORMED MAY 2014

Following Cats was never going to be easy but our youngsters managed to rise to the challenge and cover it in Spluge! Great costumes, brilliant props and incredible energy.

CATS THE MUSICAL

PERFORMED MARCH 2014

Our production of Cats continued on from the success of Les Miserables / Millie and maintaining our extremely high standards with some remarkable performances by the LTG cast.  This iconic musical offered the great opportunity to involve many local

dance schools in the production which sold out and was our first show at our new home Hansom Hall. Flame throwers and a giant rubbish tip gave us a great opportunity to stretch our professional technicians as well as the dancers.

THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE

PERFORMED SEPTEMBER 2013

We enjoyed more success with highly successful production of Millie at Upper Brown Street Theatre. Described by one audience member involved in local amateur shows as ‘a worry that they can dance as well as they can sing’. This fast moving comedy musical was complimented by a set entirely created with cartoons designed for the show at Upper Brown St theatre.

LES MISERABLES

PERFORMED MARCH 2012

Our production of Les Miserables performed in March 2012 at Bishop Street set new standards for local youth theatre productions. A 40 strong choir and an astonishingly high quality group of lead actors showed what could be achieved by young people. With the stunning backdrop of the Bishop St Methodist Church, a full youth orchestra and over £100k of technical equipment LTG opened it’s catalogue of full productions.
